Activity & Events Co-Ordinator

 

Summary.

Reports to

  • Registered Manager

Duties

  • Plan and deliver activities to our residents.

  • Plan and deliver seasonal events for our resident’s, employees and local community.

Requirements

  • Good english.

  • Can commute to Ashfield within an hour.

  • Proficient computer/written skills.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Communications skills.

  • Planning experience.

 

Responsibilities & Duties.

Role specific

  • Understand the physiological, psychological, and sociological needs of our residents.

    • Plan and deliver sessions to groups and individuals that meet the needs above discreetly (e.g., assisting one of our residents with one of their sporting hobbies to encourage exercise).

      • Sessions should be planned ahead for the quarter and relevant to the season and compliment any events.

  • Plan and host seasonal events for our residents, employees, and the local community.

    • Per year; 4 parties, 4 special days, 4 celebrations and all resident birthdays.

      • Parities =

        • Residents + staff on/off duty + Friends and relatives + wider community – are welcome.

        • Themed decorations, food van/buffet and entertainment provided.

      • Special days =

        • Residents + staff on duty + Friends and relatives – are welcome.

        • Themed decorations and entertainment provided.

      • Parities =

        • Residents + staff on duty + Friends and relatives – are welcome.

        • Themed decorations.

      • Birthdays =

        • Card signed by staff + balloons/flowers + cake + invite friends/relatives for lunch/tea.

 

Working with others

  • Induct new starters in accordance with Ashfield Nursing Home’s policy.

  • Be polite and respectful in communication with staff, residents, or external visitors.

  • Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service.

  • Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for people in the service.

  

Personal Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals one supports.

  • Attend all statutory training, meetings and any others as directed by a manager.

  • Knowledge of, and work within, the Fundamental Standards.

  • Understand the regulatory framework that governs the service, including the role of CQC and their requirements.

  • Commit to achieving the relevant qualifications with the role.

  • Understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role.

  • Understand and follow and relevant risk assessments.

  • Be open to learning opportunities.

Experience 

  • * Previous experience in a similar environment.

    • E.g. working in a home care.

  • * Previous experience in a similar role.

  • * Previous experience of working with people who have additional support needs.

    • E.g. elderly people with dementia.
